General Data Protection Regulation
The General Data Protection Regulation is a strict set of legislative measures and security laws related to the use and maintenance of data internationally. Though it was created by the European Union, it puts strict obligations on organizations anywhere around the globe, once they collect and use data pertaining to EU citizens. The regulation on May 25, 2018, stated that considerable fines will be placed on organisations who do not adhere to the standards set out in the Legislation.
